Dragonfly Coulee Miniature Donkeys began it’s love affair with Miniature Donkeys in 2013
We started off with two donkeys; Windy Pass’tures Trinket and her foal Kindatiny Remington, Donkeys are addictive, soon we purchased two more donkeys from JG Sunrise Acres; Asspen Grove Ginger Snap and JG Sunrise Orange Shimmer.
Dragonfly Coulee is located 12 kms West and 4 kms South of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
We are a small breeder providing pet, show, and breeding quality registered miniature donkeys.
All our donkeys have been chosen for their excellent confirmation and wonderful endearing temperaments.
Dragonfly Coulee’s goal is to produce foals with their parent’s attributes, we only produce around two to four exceptional donkey foals a year. With this small number of foals, we can provide great attention and detail to each foal with their training. All our donkeys are handled daily, we love spending time with them and they love human company. Dragonfly Coulee foals are well socialized from birth; they know they are special from minutes after their birth.
We produce proportional compact miniature donkeys in variety of colour with great personalities and attitudes. Our donkeys will be sure to get you noticed in the show ring or be the perfect pet.
Donkeys are herd animals and do not like to be alone. Therefore, we do not sell single
donkeys to people who do not have another equine at home and preferably another donkey, however, we would of course, sell a pair of donkeys, if available, to keep each other company! Our Miniature donkeys will not be sold as guardian animals they are to small and unable to defend themselves against a pack of dogs, coyotes or wolves.
Although only requiring a small acreage to be kept on, miniature donkeys do however
need a three-sided shelter from summer heat and flies, as well as wind, rain and snow.
Male foals destined to be pets will be gelded; geldings make wonderful pets...no hormones to disrupt their demeanor! All our donkeys are up to date with vaccinations, are regularly dewormed and have their hooves trimmed every six to eight weeks.
Mike and Jan have been showing annually in Red Deer at the Miniature Donkey Extravaganza since 2014. We are looking forward to going to be at the Calgary Stampede Miniature Donkey Showcase once again.
